Roundtable of the Research Center of Legal Solutions in the Area of Application of Distributed Ledger Technologies

A roundtable of the Research Center of Legal Solutions in the Area of Application of Distributed Ledger Technologies on “Standards of Blockchain Tools” will take place at the International Convention Center “Ukrainian House” in Kyiv on December 11, 2019.

The decision to create the Research Center of Legal Solutions in the Area of Application of Distributed Ledger Technologies was confirmed by the final protocol of the panel discussion “The Future of Digital Assets: Financial and Legal Aspects”, which was a part of the III Kharkiv International Legal Forum in September 2019. The activity of the center is aimed at introducing the blockchain technology into public administration, as well as at developing and systematizing the terminology and categorical apparatus of legal documents regulating the use of the blockchain technology in Ukraine.

The main principles of operation of the blockchain technology and its impact on monetary and bank relations will be discussed over the course of the roundtable. In addition, the next steps in developing and introducing new legislative initiatives and regulatory documents to implement the project for digitalization of Ukraine will be outlined during the discussion.

The representatives of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Mykola Kucheriavenko and Yevhen Smychok, as well as Simcord CEO Alexander Kud will moderate the roundtable discussion.

Representatives of the scientific community, the main government services and agencies of Ukraine, IT sector and business community will participate in the meeting.

The discussion will cover three topics:

  • Nature of a blockchain token: technical and legal components.
  • Issues of the existing approaches to determining the main blockchain tools and their impact on the formation of regulatory and legal framework.
  • Blockchain technology as the foundation for the transformation of the existing model of public administration.
